When Simon was a toddler he fell into a cook fire and suffered full thickness burns on both feet and lower legs. He survived the damage of the burns and is now nine years old, however the scarification has badly deformed both feet causing severe malformation and pain. 
Simon has been accepted at Cure International as a patient but still has the burden of paying for health insurance, pharmaceuticals, physical therapy, transportation to and from deep in the Maasai Mara to Nairobi, lodging, nursing care, and prosthetics. He is scheduled for his first surgery and will need at least 1-2 more.
