Simon's Hope

In the heart of the Maasai Mara, a small community is home to a brave young boy named Simon. At just eight years old, Simon has faced challenges that most of us can hardly imagine. When he was six months old, he suffered devastating burns to both of his feet. This injury has not only caused severe pain but also led to lifelong complications, including malformation of his lower limbs. These hardships have made it nearly impossible for Simon to walk comfortably, leaving him with chronic pain and open sores. Despite this, Simon's spirit remains resilient, and his dreams are simple yet profound. He yearns for the chance to play football with his friends and attend school without suffering.

Simon’s story highlights the power of community support in overcoming adversity. In 2025, Tabibu Africa took on the mission to ensure Simon receives the necessary surgeries and treatments, partnering with Cure International to transform his dreams into a reality.

By collaborating with Cure International, a well-known organization specializing in pediatric surgical care, they aim to provide Simon with the surgeries and treatments essential for him to reclaim his mobility and live a life free from pain.

Cure International has transformed the lives of thousands of children with similar conditions, performing over 15,000 surgeries annually for those in need. Their expertise in pediatric surgery will be crucial in addressing Simon's specific needs.

As Cure International will provide surgical services, Tabibu Africa is aiming to provide funding for transportation, costs, nursing, lodging, and other ongoing care. We can only do this from donors, like you.

Simon's Dreams and Aspirations

When asked about his dreams, Simon's response was simple yet powerful: he wants to play football with his friends and attend school without pain. These aspirations reflect the innocence of childhood and the universal desire for connection and joy. Being able to participate in sports and education is not just about physical activity for Simon; it is about belonging to a community and experiencing the joys of childhood.

A Future Built on Hope

While the journey ahead will be challenging, the combination of proper medical care and community support can help Simon look forward to a life filled with play, laughter, and learning. His story serves as a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the essential role of community in overcoming adversity.

Let us continue to support Simon and others like him, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to enjoy a life filled with joy, health, and the freedom to pursue their dreams. Together, we can restore hope and make meaningful changes in the life of Simon. To make a donation that will go towards Simon's journey please click here
